I just came back to room after attending Riviera ‘09. As this is my final year in VIT University, I thought I will write about my experiences with Riviera for the past four years… Riviera is always the most exciting days in VITU. Ranging from a fresher to a lady in the coffee shop will be interested in knowing about it. Students get very excited to know ‘who’ which celebrity is coming for this Riviera… Although not everyone stays in VITU, the campus seems to overflow at times. All vellore guys and girls in their best out fit. All north indians in Riviera T-Shirt. All Faculties with thier family and most importantly girls in campus till late in the night. Most of them actually don’t even know the no of events happening in Riviera. Its almost impossible to check out all events because at any given time more than 3 events will be happening in campus.

My First Year – Riviera ‘06

VIT University was Vellore Institute of Technology by then. I was crazyly interested in shooting movies and to my luck I got introduced to my senior Jathin… Our interests matched. We had great time working with Uday Sankar, Vanditha Shivley, Ujala Shankar, Vivek and Crew in PAROXYSM – A short film by me and Jathin.

And ya as a Multimedia Co-ordinator, I did few contributions to Riviera ‘06 too We came up with this Riviera ‘06 Promo and validictory presentation.

The promo video was played during the new year celebration in Anna Auditorium and received a very good applause from the audience.

My Second Year – Riviera ‘07

This is the best Riviera in my four year of experience. The Best crew. The Best moments spent in college. This time We had Vallikannu K, Muraleedharan and Uday Shankar in the organizing panel. In short the best people came out with the best output. Vallikannu proved herself to be a great leader. While running between Riviera control room and PRO / ProC office, she broke her leg too.. But she managed to walk and run around with that leg for the entire Riviera. I had great fun working with these guys… An awesome team. More work with less politics. I still couldn forget the moment we all sat in front of Control room taking a deep breath after DJ Night.

And as usual apart from the Riviera ‘07 Promo video and Validictory video I also made two short films during this Riviera. One is “Kabadi Kabadi” where we made our Dear friend, Pencil Star – Ram run around for 3 full days The movie converys good logic and message.

The Next one is the most importment movie. Its called “Maanavan – The one day student”. A very big crew worked in this movie. We tried dubbing in 3 different languages, but due to time constraints we released it only in Tamil. Its a spoof of a movie called “Tamil:Mudhalval / Hindi:Nayak”

My Third Year – Riviera ‘08

I didnt like the organization of this Riviera. Very poorly organized and executed. Any ways the crew was not people who were willing to work, everone joined the team to project their name in the broucher and posters. I tried as much as possible to stay away. But as no one was there to do the Presentations and Designs, I had to enter at last. had the most worst experiences but a good learning experience. You dont learn everything when people are good around you… Designed some 45 Banners in a single day (day before Riviera). And as usual did the validictory presentation too.. I had good fun with my friends dancing.

My Fourth Year – Riviera ‘09

The only Riviera in which I did not involve in any organization etc… although in the previous years my post will be multimedia Co-ordinator, I will be involved in some amount of management as the organizers are my friends.. This time I had fun roaming in campus jobless from morning till evening. Then dancing to the fullest in the Pro nights. Actually enjoyed Riviera like a normal student.
